Admission With Support

Apply to UW with Academic Assistance We welcome all students to apply and will consider each student based on their individual academic achievement. Be sure and submit your application and one-time nonrefundable application fee, official high school transcripts sent directly from your school, and official ACT or SAT test scores for admission consideration.   What is "Admission with Support"? Admission with support is available to you if you are a high school senior or graduate and satisfy the following: 1. A cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of: 2.50 - 2.99 - OR - 2.25 - 2.49 will be reviewed holistically and may require an essay 2. Completion of the success curriculum with no more than two deficiencies. Both deficiencies cannot occur in the same curriculum category. 3. To foster academic success, students admitted with support participate in UW's nationally recognized Bridge program or other academic transition programs. Visit uwyo.edu/fallbridge for additional details. Be admitted and registered in the Bridge Program by July 15th before the fall classes begin. For students that do not make the deadline, we encourage you to start at a community college and transfer to UW after you have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours and earned a 2.0 or higher transfer gpa, or earned an associate’s degree.

_{MATH REQUIREMENTS: To include a college preparatory Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry sequence.}

_{SCIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One year must be from the physical sciences: physics, chemistry, or a college preparatory physical science course. The remaining years may be a combination of biological, life, physical, or earth/space science courses.}

_{ADDITIONAL COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS: Students must take four years of additional coursework from any of the following subject areas: Foreign Language, Fine and Performing Arts, or Career-Vocational Education. Two years must be sequenced in the same discipline.}

Home School & GED Students

The University of Wyoming welcomes students who have earned their diploma through home schooling or have earned their General Education Development (GED) credentials!

Home School Students

• Home school students must meet the same requirements as other high school graduates.
• The home school instructor should complete the Home School Credit Evaluation Form and send it to the Admissions Office.

GED Students

• Applicants must have an average/overall score between 157-163 on the GED test to be admitted with support.
• Applicants less than 21 years old must submit ACT or SAT results to the Admissions Office.
• Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age or his or her high school class must have graduated.
