George C. Frison Institute of Archaeology & Anthropology

Library

Located on the second floor of the anthropology building, the Frison Institute Library holds nearly 10,000 volumes covering various areas of archaeological method and theory, North American prehistory, and North American ethnology.  It also has a computer terminal and reading space.  The library also holds back issues of several major anthropological journals. Volumes have been donated by George Brox, Keith Dueholm, Joseph and Ruth Cramer, George Frison, Ward Goodenough, Michael McFaul, Richard Reider, Randy Shaw, Sydel Silverman, Robert and Gigi York, and various members of the anthropology department and state archaeologist’s office.  The library also houses the Wyoming Archaeological Society library. Visitors are welcome during regular university hours. Materials do not circulate outside the building.
