Teena Gabrielson

Teena Gabrielson joined UW in 2006 as a professor in the Department of Political Science, now the School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies. She is trained as a political theorist with a PhD from the University of California, Davis. She researches within the field of environmental political theory with a focus on questions of environmental justice.

Gabrielson served as Department Head for three years (2014-2017) before joining the College as an Associate Dean in 2017. She oversees the departments of English, Geography, Modern and Classical Languages, Philosophy and Religious Studies, the School of Culture, Gender and Social Justice, Theatre and Dance, and Zoology and Physiology. Gabrielson’s responsibilities in the college include reappointment, tenure, and promotion, academic dishonesty and grade appeals, curricular revisions, and assessment of student learning. She also serves as the liaison to the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
