What is ACT?

ACT is the only student organization of its kind within the agricultural communicatorions field.  It is designed for students who have a professional interest in the filed of communications related to agriculture.

Who can join ACT?

Membership in the organization is not limited to students with majors in agricultural journalism or communications.  Any student who is interested in some form of professional communication related to agriculture may join.

Objectives

• Promote careers in agricultural communications
• Provide leadership experience to members and keep them abreast of developments in agricultural communications
• Help members make professional contacts and work with future associates and employers
• Improve courses and programs related to agricultural communications by stimulating interaction among students and faculty
• Provide an organizational structure that is broad so that ACT can serve all students and relate to all professional groups within the career field
• Help build member's portfolios
• Develop College of Agriculture newsletters

National dues are $12 per undergraduate and graduate member.  Chapter dues are $8 per undergraduate and graduate member.

Through ACT, students can meet others with similar career interests.  The organization also provides a broad network of professional contacts who are successful in guiding students toward successful careers.  Other benefits include the following:
