University of Wyoming Calendar for Sept. 19-27

Wednesday, Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents Edgar Meyer and Mike Marshall in concert, UW Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $18 for students and senior citizens, and $25 for others.

Friday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m. -- Educator and author Patricia Wasley opens the inaugural John P. "Jack" Ellbogen Teaching and Learning Symposium with "Teaching in America: An Incoherent System,” Crane-Hill dining area. Free.

Monday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m. -- Roberto Rodriguez, research associate at the Mexican American Studies and Research Center at the University of Arizona, will discuss "Sacred Maize: A 7,000 year-old Ceremonial Discourse," Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom. Free.

Wednesday, Sept. 26, noon -- Writer-in Residence Terry Tempest Williams will host a brown-bag lunch lecture "The Art of Engagement: Conversations about Culture and Landscape," UW Foundation House main room. Free.

Wednesday, Sept. 26, 7:30 p.m. -- “Maxed Out,” film discussing American's outstanding credit card debt, UW Arts and Sciences auditorium, part of 2007 Consumer Issues Conference. Free.

Thursday, Sept. 27, 6 p.m. -- Thursday Night Garden Party presents the music of Kathryn Mostow, Wyoming Union Gardens. Free.

Thursday, Sept. 27, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Department of Music presents the UW Chamber Orchestra, Fine Arts Center concert hall. Free.

Friday, Sept. 28, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Department of Music presents trumpeter Dave Cooper, Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $5 for students and senior citizens, and $7 for others.
