Oct. 26, 2007 -- Silent and live auctions, fine gourmet dining and live music will be featured the University of Wyoming Art Museum’s 15th annual Gala Benefit Ball, Saturday, Nov. 3.

This year's event, themed "Safari," will be held in the Wyoming Union ballroom at 6 p.m. The annual gala provides funds for exhibitions, education and collection programs and outreach, enabling the art museum to present nationally and culturally significant programs to the northern Rocky Mountain region.

“We have a lot of unique items in the auction this year,” said Jacque Buchanan, gala co-chairperson, “including a week's stay at a gorgeous Esperanza Villa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a mink coat, and a great selection of fine art.”

Featured auction pieces also include a restored BSA motorcycle and Broncos tickets with Stadium Club passes. In addition to the auctions, there will be a drawing for a three-quarter carat hand-crafted diamond necklace. Raffle tickets cost $25 and can be purchased by calling (307) 766-3477.

Tickets for the gala are available for individuals and couples, as are table sponsorships at various levels. For more information call the Art Museum at (307) 766-3477.

The UW Art Museum is located in the Centennial Complex at 22nd and Willett Drive in Laramie. It is open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Admission is free.
