Brassicas for fall grazing

By David W. Koch, Department of Plant Sciences

With the havoc wrecked by drought and other factors on traditional forage sources for livestock, producers are being forced to look beyond pastures and hay to assure nutritional foodstuff for their animals. Many plant species have the potential to become livestock forage; however, the success of candidates for supplemental forage will depend on the amount of rainfall, the availability of irrigation, the type of soil, and the location that they are offered.

Brassicas for fall grazing provides Wyoming producers with information about how to grow nutritional brassica for fall grazing to add value to the diet of their livestock before marketing.
