Instructions
- NOTE: The training program will run
faster if you save it to your computer (right-click the
message above and choose "Save Target As...").
- This training is required for ALL new
University of Wyoming employees. A classroom version is also
presented by EHS in conjunction with
Safety Orientation & Laboratory Safety
and (after January 2009) with
Workplace Safety. To find out the times and locations for those classes,
refer to the
EHS
Training page.
- Right-click on the message above to download the
computer-based version of the orientation training. It should open
as a fully functioning "pdf" presentation. If you don't have a pdf
reader, download one
here.
- If you don't save and run the presentation
from your own computer, there are some glitches you should be aware
of:
- When you follow a link to an external web
page (including the SAFETY STORY links), using the "Back" button
on your web browser sometimes takes you to the first slide of
the training. To return to the page you want, use the "Home"
button at the bottom and select the desired slide from the table
of contents.
- Don't use the "X" button to close the window, or
you will have to start the training presentation again. If you
accidentally close the program, return to this page, follow the
link to the On-line training and follow the advice given above
for returning to the section you left.
- Returning to the orientation training by
using the "Back" button requires re-loading the pdf file every
time. This takes a while, so please be patient.
- There is also a link above (and on slide 2 of
the presentation) to the Safety Orientation brochure that is handed
out at the classroom training. We invite you to save a copy of this,
as it contains important reminders and contact information.
- At the end of the training (on the slide that
says "Thank you for your attention") the "Next" button will
bring you to a page from which you can certify that you
have taken the class. You can also follow a link back to the Human
Resources New Employee Orientation training.

constructive criticisms, contact the
