Research: How water dynamics and quality relate to sustainability of grassland and forested ecosystems across semi-arid regions of the United States - research has evaluated how stream systems and adjoining floodplains respond when watersheds are subjected to multiple use; and to better understand water, soil, plant, animal activity, chemical transport, modeling, and climatic effects on watershed rangeland and drastically disturbed ecosystems using instrumented watersheds, field sites and environmental simulation.
