Oct. 27, 2005 -- Children will be able to trick or treat safely and stay out of the cold during the University of Wyoming Greek community’s Halloween event.

Chi Omega sorority and other Greek houses will provide the children with several games and opportunities to win candy. Chi Omega, will offer games such as a candy walk, pin the tail on the donkey, and even tell scary stories. The sorority has participated in this event for several years.

"Sharing the stories that we heard while we were growing up is my favorite thing. I remember all the Halloweens that I had, and want these kids to have as much fun as I did," says Megan Ahrens, Chi Omega president. "Don't worry though, they aren't that scary."

This event will be a great opportunity for the parents to take their children trick or treating while avoiding bad weather. Parents are welcome to participate with their children, or just come inside.

"This is my favorite event, I love seeing all of the costumes the kids have. Plus, it's a great way for the community to see what being Greek means," says Nicole Rudd, Chi Omega’s Panhellenic representative. "And, the parents can warm themselves up."

Chi Omega is located at 1630 E. Sorority Row. For more information call Ahrens at (307) 399-5422.
