Nov. 12, 2003 -- Recent University of Wyoming graduate Josh Cabot of Cheyenne has received the highest award from the national chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity.

He was initiated as an Alpha Affiliate, bestowed to the 10 top graduating Sigma Nus in the United States. The award qualifications are based upon demonstrated academic success, campus involvement, and fraternity leadership.

Cabot held several positions in the UW chapter of Sigma Nu, including president, social chairman and philanthropy chairman. Regularly listed on the Dean's honor roll, he also was active in Mortar Board, the national senior class honor society, and in Tau Beta Pi, the national honor society in engineering.

Cabot, a 1999 graduate of Cheyenne East High School, graduated in May with a degree in architectural engineering. He currently works for the UW Facilities Planning Office, and plans to pursue a master's degree to prepare for a career as an architect.
