UW Recognizes Greek Achievements

May 2, 2006 -- Individuals and chapters were recognized for their leadership, scholarship and service contributions, during the recent 2005-06 Greek Achievement Awards ceremony at the University of Wyoming.

The Interfraternity and Panhellenic councils, in partnership with the Dean of Students Office, recognized the students and chapters.

This year's individual recipients are:

Greek Woman of the Year -- Lindsey Lorello, Gillette, Pi Beta Phi; Rachell Morley, Annandale, Va., Delta Delta Delta.

Greek Man of the Year -- Nathaniel Steinhoff, Green River, Sigma Nu.

New Member of the Year, Sorority -- Alison Smyth, Englewood, Colo., Delta Delta Delta.

New Member of the Year, Fraternity -- Brandon Chiu, Laramie, Sigma Nu.

Margaret C. Tobin Scholarship recipients -- Callie Owens, Cheyenne, Delta Delta Delta; Hope Wilson, Cheyenne, Delta Delta Delta.

Chapter awards for excellence were presented to Chi Omega and Sigma Phi Epsilon. The community service awards were presented to Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Alpha. The awards for outstanding chapter programming went to Pi Beta Phi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Scholastic Achievement Awards were given to Chi Omega and Sigma Nu.
