Microsoft Software for Home
Information Technology offers Microsoft Office and Windows Upgrade
software for use at home by UW benefited employees. Microsoft Office
Enterprise 2007 and Office 2008 for Mac are available through the Home
Use Program, and Microsoft Windows Upgrades are available through the
Work at Home Program. The Home Use Program (HUP) allows current faculty
and staff to install and use one copy of Microsoft Office for personal
and work-related purposes. The Work At Home (WAH) program allows current
faculty and staff to install and use Windows Operating Systems at home
for UW work-related work.
This offer is effective as long as Campus Agreement is in place, and the
licensed individual is employed by the university. The current Campus
Agreement is in effect through August 28, 2009. As long as Campus
Agreement is renewed annually by the university, users can continue to
use the software. Users will be required to remove the software from
their home machine immediately upon expiration of the licensed period or
earlier if their employment with the University of Wyoming ends.
Eligibility:
-
Work at Home and Home Use Program media (CDs and DVDs) are made
available through Campus Agreement licensing only, which is available to
current UW benefited faculty and staff on the University of Wyoming
payroll. If a user is not a paid employee of UW with benefited status,
then they are not eligible for this media.
- Cooperating agency (affiliate) employees are not eligible to receive
WAH or HUP media. Affiliates are listed in the Web and phone directories
as a courtesy by UW Public Relations. Affiliates are provided a Campus
Express ID as a way to gain access to certain UW benefits designated by
UW Human Resources. Neither of these records of identification grant
entitlements to WAH or HUP media.
- Adjunct faculty and retirees are not eligible for WAH or HUP media.
- Student employees are not eligible for WAH or HUP media.
Installation CDs/DVDs can be purchased for a minimal cost, and are yours
to keep. Installation does not require a Volume License Key; however,
the software must be registered with Microsoft after installation to
ensure continued functionality.
Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of WAH or HUP products
on personally owned computers is the responsibility of the owner.
