Entertainment Law Initiative Writing Competition The Recording Academy™, in concert with entertainment attorneys, established the Entertainment Law Initiative® to promote discussion and debate about the most compelling legal issues facing the music industry today. The ELI writing contest challenges students to identify, research, and write an essay with a proposed solution on a compelling legal issue confronting the music industry. Winner receives a $10,000 scholarship and two tickets to the GRAMMY Awards; runner-up receives a $2,500 scholarship.

Hogan/Smoger Law Student Essay Competition Public Citizen provides a current law student or master of law student with a $5,000 prize for the winner of its Hogan/Smoger Access to Justice Essay Competition.

Proff Law Juvenile & Restorative Justice Scholarship This scholarship will award $1,500 to a law student spending their summer working at a non-profit organization, doing juvenile justice or restorative justice work. Law students from diverse backgrounds and/or have juvenile or criminal records are encouraged to apply.

Michael Greenberg Student Writing Competition The National LGBT Bar Association's competition is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing outstanding law student scholarship on the legal issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. The winning article is considered for publication in the Tulane Journal of Law & Sexuality: A Review of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the Law, the first and only student-edited law review devoted to the intersection of LGBT issues and the law in the United States.

Morris L. Cohen Student Essay Competition The competition is designed to encourage scholarship and to acquaint students with the AALL and law librarianship, and is open to students currently enrolled in accredited graduate programs in library science, law, history, and related fields. Essays may be on any topic related to legal history, rare law books, or legal archives. The winner will receive a $500.00 prize from Gale, a Cengage company, and will be invited to present their paper to AALL members via webinar.

The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel Writing Competition The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel sponsors a writing competition for law students to encourage them to learn about employee benefits. Up to two participants will be selected to receive $1,500 prizes. Winners also will be honored during the College’s annual black tie dinner Papers may be on any topic in the field of employee benefits law.

StangerLaw, LLC, Law School Scholarship Contest Tell Us Who Your Favorite Television Lawyer Is for the Chance to Win a $1,000 Scholarship! Lawyer characters in movies and TV shows are inspirational, hard-working, and incredibly skilled in the courtroom. Legal fiction gives the average person an idea of what it is like to work in a big law firm, represent murderers and embezzlers in court, and overall how rewarding the life of a lawyer can be.

Sutliff & Stout, Injury & Accident Law Firm Law School Scholarship Our firm is guided by the idea that all people are entitled to high-quality legal representation, regardless of wealth or social status. This idea requires that there are enough high-quality attorneys and legal professionals working in the field to support those who are in need of representation. In an effort to enable more students who have a passion for law to be able to pursue that passion, our Houston car accident attorneys are offering an annual scholarship contest which will award a law student with a $1,500 award to be put toward his or her law school costs.

Philadelphia Injury Lawyers P.C. Essay Competition Philadelphia Injury Lawyers are known for obtaining high judgments in Court for victims of medical malpractice. We want to help the future generation of Philadelphia medical malpractice lawyers with their education expenses by offering an annual $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship will be based on an essay competition with a topic focused on medical malpractice law.

Shannon Bybee Scholarship Award The International Association of Gaming Advisors will award prizes of $2,500 for each of the two best research papers written on a topic that either enhances the understanding of gaming law or recommends a beneficial change in gaming law. Last year's deadline was in July.
