Energy Law and Policy Conference

On November 13th in Laramie, WY, the University of Wyoming College of Law's Center for Law and Energy Resources in the Rockies (CLERR) and School of Energy Resources (SER) hosted a Landscape Discussion on Energy Law in Wyoming. The conference focused on energy related legal, regulatory and policy issues of current interest in Wyoming and the region.

The main objective of the conference was to bring stakeholders together who have collaborative interests and to engage in a thought provoking discussion concerning key energy topics currently at play in Wyoming. The Conference did just that. With a wide variety of speakers and panelists, the conference provided a forum for vibrant dialogue regarding concerns facing Wyoming in the industry and creative ways to solve them.

The conference was opened with statements from former Governor Dave Freudenthal, who was pleased with the overall outcome of the conference. He says, Thanks to the Law School and School of Energy we have now initiated a discussion about energy and energy policy as it affects Wyoming among a broad set of stakeholders. Some of them lawyers, some non-lawyers, some interest groups, and some individual companies; but every step that really moves the state forward begins with people having a conversation to see if there is common ground."

Videos from the conference are available at the conference web site.
