Aged rat

Aging is a process that accumulated alterations lead to a decreased capability of adapting to environmental stress as time elapses. It is correlated with a wide range of diseases such as heart attack, diabetes, cancer, neurodegeneration and so on. However, the mechanism of these multimentional physical changes is partially explored. To discover more about it, our lab is combining physiological techniques as well as biochemical and molecular biological methods to understand the signal pathways that play a key role in cardiovascular diseases associated with aging. Alternatively, some potential drugs are undergone pharmacological test to help prevent or cure patients with cardiovascular disease. Our research is on the way to help bridge the gap between basic biomedical research and clinical applications.
