An ambulatory care rotation will be offered again at the University of Wyoming Family Practice Residency Program at Cheyenne, due to recruitment of new faculty.

At this practice site, PharmD students will have the opportunity to work in a Pharmacotherapy Clinic offering a variety of medication therapy management services that will serve as an example of how to invoke the state of Wyoming Collaborative Practice laws that pertain to pharmacy practice.  In addition, students will see patients in the Family Medicine Clinic with medical residents, and may have opportunity to view various medical procedures.  A wide variety of patients will be seen by the students as the clinic provides pediatric, geriatric, pre-natal, and adult medicine services.

Dr. Amy Stump will be offering the rotation.  Dr. Stump is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy and the Family Practice Residency Program at Cheyenne.  She provides teaching to medical residents and medical and pharmacy students regarding appropriate usage of pharmacotherapy on a day-to-day basis as well as in an on-going noon conference lecture series.  Dr. Stump graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy, and completed a Primary Care Specialty Residency with Mission Hosptials/MAHEC in Asheville, North Carolina.  She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.  Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Wyoming in 2006, Dr. Stump was faculty with the Auburn University School of Pharmacy and the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa School of Medicine.  Her professional interests include chronic disease management and medication access in elderly and indigent populations.
