Carol Kobulnicky Granted Tenure with Promotion

Carol J. Hermansen-Kobulnicky, Ph.D., R.Ph., was given tenure and promoted to Associate Professor by the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees.

Professor Kobulnicky joined the School of Pharmacy faculty as an assistant professor in 2002. She earned her B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and practiced pharmacy for two years before returning to Madison to earn her Masters in Pharmacy
Administration and her Ph.D. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy.

Dr. Kobulnicky teaches professional doctor of pharmacy students in the area of Social and Administrative Sciences, specifically patient and professional communications, health behavior theory and pharmacy management.

Her research includes investigations of pharmacists' and patients' roles related to medication use, patient-provider communications and patient and provider use of information. She has studied self-monitoring and self-advocacy among cancer patients and patient with diabetes.

Dr. Kobulnicky's work also is characterized by her interest in bridging the disciplines and improving the education of Wyoming's health care professionals. She is currently PI and co-PI of two funded projects, one to integrate ethics instruction across the pharmacy curriculum and the other to investigate the need for specialized health education for Wyoming energy industries.

Dr. Kobulnicky serves as chair of the College of Health Sciences Interprofessional Task Force and was awarded the 2009 University of Wyoming College of Health Sciences Interprofessional Award for her commitment to interprofessional work.
