Faculty and Students Attend AACP Annual Meeting

Associate Professor Carol Kobulnicky presented "Integrating Health Behavior Theory Across Pharmacy Curricula" at the AACP annual meeting in Boston in July.

The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy had a strong showing at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) 2009 Annual Meeting and Seminars in Boston, Massachusetts this July. Although the University of Wyoming is one of the smallest schools/colleges of pharmacy, the school's faculty and students made their presence known at the national meeting.

The school was represented by: Dean John Vandel and faculty members Mary Emashowski Onysko, Michelle Hilaire, Carol Kobulnicky, Janelle Krueger, Kem Krueger, Linda Martin, and Christy Weiland.

Mary Emashowski Onysko served as the Faculty Delegate to the AACP House of Delegates, and Linda Martin was the Administrative Delegate. Christy Weiland and John Vandel were the alternate delegates. During this meeting, Linda Martin began her tenure as the chair of the Social and Administrative Sciences Curriculum Committee; Kem Krueger was sworn in as the Chair of the Pharmacy Ethics Special Interest Group; and John Vandel completed his year as a Dean Facilitator for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP).

Three faculty members participated in live presentations. Carol Kobulnicky presented a Social and Administrative Sciences Section program entitled "Integrating Health Behavior Theory Across Pharmacy Curricula"; Kem Krueger coordinated a Pharmacy Ethics SIG program entitled "Incorporating Ethics and Developmental Psychology into Curricula to Promote Cognitive Moral Development in Millennial Students"; and John Vandel participated in an Academic Leadership Fellows Program presentation entitled "Assessment of Student Attitudes toward Student Leadership within Pharmacy Programs."
