Beverly Sullivan, Pharm.D., professor of pharmacy practice, was recently appointed the associate dean of student affairs for the School of Pharmacy. She will oversee the student affairs staff and assist the school's student affairs committee. Dr. Sullivan served as interim dean for the College of Health Sciences during the 2008-09 academic year while an international search was completed to replace Dean Robert O. Kelley. Joseph Steiner, dean and professor at the Idaho State University College of Pharmacy, was named the dean of the College of Health Sciences July 1, 2009.
Dr. Sullivan previously served as the associate dean of the School of Pharmacy from 2004-2006 and director of the Division of Pharmacy Practice from 2001-2006. She has been with the school since 1990 during which time she has conducted cancer research and received the College of Health Sciences Meritorious Service Award.
She is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American Pharmaceutical Association, Wyoming Pharmacy Association, Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, and the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honors Society.
Dr. Sullivan earned a bachelor's degree in biological sciences in 1972 from the University of California, Irvine, California, and a bachelor's degree in pharmacy in 1982 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1984 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Drug Development from the University of North Carolina in 1986.
