Abstracts by Ji Li, assistant professor of pharmacology and physiology, Subat Turdi, research scientist, and Peng Zhao, Ph.D. student from the Center for Cardiovascular Research and Alternative Medicine (C-CRAM) have been accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA) for presentation at AHA's highly competitive international meeting to be held in New Orleans in November 2008. Only 3,000 out of 11,200 submissions were accepted for the international meeting.
The following abstracts were accepted by the 2008 AHA Scientific Session:
1. Turdi S, Yan X, Ren J. High-Fat-Diet induced cardiomyocyte dysfunction in AMPK-deficient mice. (Poster
presentation on Nov. 11).
2. Zhao P, He L, Li J, Ma H, Wang J, Zhu X, Ren J, Li J. Toll-like Receptor 4-deficiency improves
ischemic contractile dysfunction of cardiomyocytes. (Poster presentation on Nov. 9).
3. Li J, Kim A, Cheng H, Hu J, Wu X, Miller E, Xiao L, Young LH. AMPK mediates the cardioprotective
effect of Urocortin. (Oral presentation on Nov. 11).
