The Uniqueness of Language: A skeletal comparison of male human, chimpanzee, and gorilla hard palates

Human hard palate: short and L shaped. Notice how the teeth are small and they all form a triangle shape.
Chimpanzee hard palate: The palate is much longer and less defined in shape. Notice the large teeth and the spaces between the canines and incisors.
Gorilla hard palate: The palate is even longer than the chimpanzee's, and very narrow. The teeth are massive compared to the human teeth.
