Campus Activities Center Bring Entertainment to UW |

|
Sept. 2, 2004 -- The Campus Activity Center (CAC) is at the heart of all entertainment on the University of Wyoming campus. The office encourages students to become involved through activities and organizations. CAC students and staff members work together to develop a diverse calendar of programs, activities and learning opportunities for all students.
The UW campus has more than 190 recognized student organizations (RSOs) that range from honorary, political, professional, special interest, sports and more.
"Getting involved is a great way to meet other students and to learn many skills such as leadership, communication, growth of civic responsibility, program coordination, public relations, time management, networking and more," says Kim Zafft, Wyoming Union assistant director.
The CAC staff coordinates the Safe Zone program and the UW Center for Volunteer Service and advises the Student Activities Council, Concerts and Convocations Committee, Friday Night Fever, and the Homecoming Committee. These programming entities bring many exciting events to campus and have hosted events such as the Second City Comedy Tour, Wyclef Jean, BB King, Jimmy Fallon, Widespread Panic, hypnotists, casino nights, pre video release movies just to name a few.
The Friday Night Fever (FNF) program offers students free programming every Friday night and the Student Activities Council offers programming most Wednesdays.
"We encourage all UW students to get involved with one or more of these groups," Zafft says. AInput from students on how to spend their fee dollars is important in the success of the programs."
She encourages students to join an RSO, participate in a community service event or attend one of the many programs and activities sponsored by RSOs on campus.
Individuals can sign up for the weekly events list serve and receive a calendar of events each week via e mail by e mailing us at cac@uwyo.edu. A weekly events hotline is also available by calling (307) 766 5000 option #3.
