November 17, 2020 — The Center for Energy Regulation & Policy Analysis (CERPA) and the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources are seeking academic proposal submissions for the Virtual Symposium on the Law and Economics of Energy Regulation which will take place June 5, 2021.

November 13, 2020 — The Center for Energy Regulation & Policy Analysis (CERPA) at the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources launched a new section of its website dedicated to housing “working papers” currently in production through the Center.

November 4, 2020 — On Oct. 1st, the School of Energy Resource’s (SER) Center for Economic Geology Research (CEGR) at the University of Wyoming officially launched Phase III of the CarbonSAFE project.

October 29, 2020 — The School of Energy Resources (SER) was delighted to host Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Clean Coal and Carbon Management, Lou Hrkman, on Wednesday. DAS Hrkman is an official in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy.

October 23, 2020 — SER Graduate Student Ellen Polites Contributes to Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Research. Though housed in the UW Department of Geology and Geophysics, the research Polites is working towards for her master’s thesis is part of the greater research endeavor spear-headed by the Center for Geology Research (CEGR), the CarbonSAFE project.

October 7, 2020 — Professor Tara Righetti of the School of Energy Resources recently published an article with the International Journal of the Commons in a special edition of the publication. The Journal is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed resource, dedicated to furthering the understanding of institutions for use and management of shared natural resources.

June 1, 2020 — Geology master’s student Garrett Gay is developing a methodology for separating, dissolving, and analyzing mineral grains to access potential Rare Earth Element (REE) resources in Wyoming.
April 22, 2020 — The Wyoming Energy Authority is accepting applications for its inaugural Executive Director. The application process begins immediately and the initial deadline is May 18, 2020. However, the position will remain open until filled.
