Parsons Dance Company to Perform at UW

Feb. 6, 2001 -- The Parsons Dance Company, whose founder has been hailed by the New York Times as a dancer known for "speed, fluency, wit, looks, and charm," will perform Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets for the 8 p.m. performance are $15 for non students and $12 for students and children. For ticket information call 766 6666 or 766-3327.

David Parsons is noted as one of the most promising choreographers of his generation. His works have been presented in the repertories of The Paul Taylor Dance Company, the New York City Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre, and the Paris Opera Ballet.

Parsons, who began his career as a dancer in Taylor's company, founded his own dance company in 1987. Since then, the company has performed at some of the world's most distinguished theatres, including the Kennedy Center, City Center, Lincoln Center, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and Teatro Municipal, Rio de Janeiro.
