May 30, 2008 -- The University of Wyoming's fourth annual Snowy Range Summer Theatre and Dance Festival opens June 10 with "Cockeyed," a delightful comedy about a quintessential nice guy's unrequited love for a woman out of his league.
Written by playwright-in-residence William Missouri Downs and directed by recent UW graduate Anna Brownsted, "Cockeyed" runs through June 14. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center studio theatre.

"Cockeyed" centers on the idealistic Phil, an erstwhile philosopher who falls in love with Sophia, the boss' beautiful secretary and mistress. But Sophia ignores Phil's advances toward her, leading him to come to terms with love and rejection through his own special brand of philosophy.
"Cockeyed" stars Brandon Taylor, a 2005 UW graduate and a member of the Actors' Equity Association, the labor union representing American actors and stage managers in professional theatre.
The cast also includes UW Department of Theatre and Dance students Jake Staley and Katie Stearns, both of Cheyenne, and recent graduate Stephen Post of Spearfish, S.D.
The festival continues with two more comedies, "Last Train to Nibroc" June 24-28 and "Rounding Third" July 8-12, and dance performances July 23 and July 26.
The festival, established in 2005, is an outgrowth of UW's longstanding summer theatre program and dance festival.
