University of Wyoming Theatre and Dance Department Sets Season Schedule

Sept. 5, 2006 -- Tickets are now on sale for the University of Wyoming Theatre and Dance 2006-07 production season.

Season tickets cost $79, or $62 for senior citizens. Individual tickets are available for $14, or $11 for seniors and $7 for students. Tickets for “The Nutcracker” cost $16, $13 for seniors and $8 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the Fine Arts Center box office, the Wyoming Union information desk, or by calling (307) 766-6666 or visiting www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees on Sunday. Productions debuting in the Fine Arts Center studio theatre also will have 10:30 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday.

UW Theatre and Dance’s opening season performance is “Dead Man Walking,” adapted from Tim Robbins’ Academy Award-winning film, which runs Oct. 3-8 on the Fine Arts Center main stage.

The next performance is David Mamet’s 1974 classic “Sexual Perversity in Chicago” Oct. 31-Nov. 5 at the Fine Arts Center studio theatre. The holiday classic “The Nutcracker” returns Nov. 30-Dec. 3 at the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Rebecca Gillman’s award-winning play “Spinning into Butter” runs Feb. 6-11 at the Fine Arts Center studio theatre, the first spring semester performance. UW presents an evening-length dance concert March 2-4 at the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Finally, funnyman and actor Steve Martin’s smart, razor-sharp comedy “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” will be performed April 17-22 on the Fine Arts Center main stage.
