Admitted Graduate Students

Next Steps to Enrollment

Upon receiving official admission to the University of Wyoming and your specific academic program, connect with your advisor and/or department for detailed information on next steps tailored to your program. This will include instructions on confirming your intent to enroll and guidance on various aspects of the process. Alongside program-specific requirements, all admitted graduate students are required to fulfill the following next steps.

Log into WyoWeb

The WyoWeb portal will contain all of your main information, including enrollment and financial aid. First, you will need your username and password. There will be a link for "Students" in the WyoRecords section; it will prompt you to log in with your username and password to view your information. Need help creating a username and password? Check out this video!

Student Immunization & Health History Form

All Laramie campus graduate students must turn in proof of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccination prior to course registration. You will not be able to register for semester classes if you have not met this requirement. For further information about the MMR vaccination requirement, please contact Student Health Service.

Learn More About Campus Housing

While graduate students are not required to live in university housing, affordable, convenient options do exist on campus. Visit the Residence Life and Dining Services' website or contact the main RLDS Office at (307) 766-3175 to learn more about residence halls and university apartments.

Federal Financial Aid & Scholarships

Students who would like to be considered for need-based assistance must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The priority deadline for students entering in the fall is March 1. For more information, visit the graduate financial assistance website. Deadlines exist for many scholarship and financial opportunities.

Students wishing to pursue graduate assistantships should do so at the time they apply for admission to their academic program. Contact your graduate program for information about applying for an assistantship.

Confirming Your Intent to Enroll at UW

Each graduate program will advise its new graduate students on the process for confirming their intention to enroll at UW. Unlike undergraduates, graduate students are not required to make an enrollment deposit in order to confirm their intent to enroll.

Students admitted to a graduate program who wish to postpone or defer their enrollment for up to one year should inquire about this option with their graduate program.

Final Transcripts and Academic Records

If you applied for admission prior to having completed your most recent degree, please have your final college transcript sent directly to the UW Admissions Office when they become available. Your admission is not final until the final transcripts are received, which can hold up any financial assistance and may prevent you from enrolling for subsequent semesters.

Graduate Student Orientation and GA Training

New graduate students are asked to attend a half-day orientation session to learn more about UW resources and academic expectations. To learn more about the orientation and upcoming dates visit the Graduate Education page. Information about the program will also be sent to admitted graduate students.

Graduate students receiving graduate assistantships are required to attend a Graduate Teaching and Learning Symposium held prior to the start of the Fall semester.

All international graduate students applying for a teaching assistantship must take the Oral Proficiency interview by computer (OPIc). Please see the UW English Language Center page for more information.

UW also offers numerous professional development and training opportunities throughout the year for graduate students wishing to develop skills and knowledge, as well as engage outside the classroom. Checkout the Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning (ECTL) to get started!
