Ulrich Adelt

Prof./Dr. Ulrich Adelt is the Director of the African American and Diaspora Studies Department and an Associate Professor of American Studies. He has published two books, Blues Music in the Sixties: A Story in Black and White (Rutgers University Press 2010) and Krautrock: German Music in the Seventies (University of Michigan Press 2016). His research experience and expertise lies mainly in African American Music, transnational American Studies, and 20th Century African American Literature and popular culture.

Teaching: The Harlem Renaissance, Popular Music and Sexualities, African American Music, Blues and African American Literature, The Hip-Hop Generation, Black Popular Culture, Readings in American Studies, Topics in American Studies
