Pythian Papers on Academic Careers

The term "Pythia" is a Greek word that referred to the Oracle of Delphi who was a priestess credited for her prophecies. As a result, the Oracle of Delphi has been considered by some to be the most authoritative and prestigious institution of the Greek world. (Legend also has it that her utterances were enigmatic at best and gibberish at worst. We leave it to readers to judge which aspect of the metaphor fits best.) Papers written by various Academic Affairs personnel are called "Pythian Papers" so as to provide insight and inspiration to the advancement of academic careers at the university and beyond.
