Accounting Minor

Accounting isn't just about dollars and cents or debits and credits anymore. Accounting includes the whole range of business information management. A minor in Accounting will give you the tools you need to understand basic accounting information - a set of skills that will be useful to you no matter what career you choose.

A minimum 2.50 UW institution GPA is required to apply for a College of Business Minor.  A minimum grade of "C" is required for each minor course.  The cumulative minor GPA must be a 2.50 at graduation.

It is your responsibility to check prerequisites before you register for College of Business courses.  You are responsible for completing all prerequisites required for this minor.

For a minor in Accounting, you must take the following courses:

ACCT 1010
Principles of Accounting I
3 credit hours

ACCT 1020
Principles of Accounting II 
3 credit hours

ACCT 2230
Intermediate Accounting I
3 credit hours

ACCT 2240
Cost Accounting I
3 credit hours

You will also choose two (2) courses (6 credit hours) from an approved list of options.  See College of Business Academic Advising Office, BU 175 (West).
