Application Deadlines

  • For fall or summer semester, all application materials are due by March 15 if applying for a graduate assistantship, or May 1 if not applying for an assistantship.

  • For spring semester, all application materials are due by November 1.

  • GA applications can be found here. Please submit them directly to the department of Accounting

Step 1:

Complete the University of Wyoming Graduate Admissions Application (UW Graduate Admissions Application).  You will be required to pay a $50 application fee for the university application.

Step 2:

Official transcripts from all previous post-secondary institutions attended must be provided (not necessary if UW is the most recent institution attended).  Official transcripts should be sent directly from the issuing institution to the Master of Science in Accounting Program.

Step 3:

Complete the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) with a total score of 550 or better, or the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) with a combined score of 300 or better.  Your official test scores must be sent directly to the Master of Science in Accounting Program by the sponsoring test provider (UW school code:  4855). NOTE: Students who have earned their undergraduate degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution are eligible to have the GMAT/GRE requirement waived.

Step 4:

Three (3) work- or school-related letters of recommendation must be provided.  The University of Wyoming Graduate Admissions Application allows you to electronically contact your references by providing their e-mail addresses. Your references may also send letters of recommendation directly to the Master of Science in Accounting Program.

Step 5: (For International Applicants only)

International Applicants (from non-English speaking countries) must complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).  Applicants must score 540 on the Paper-based test (TOEFL PBT) or 76 on the Internet-based test (TOEFL iBT).  Official test scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to the Master of Science in Accounting Program.  TOEFL scores are valid for two years after the test date.  International students must also have sufficient financial resources as established by the University of Wyoming (Graduate International Student Admissions).  The M.S. Accounting Program does not accept IELTS scores.
