OUTGOING PACKAGES

  • Can I send my personal packages out through S&R?

NO –  The Uni-Regs state that UW property or time cannot be used for personal business.

  • What do you mean by “one stop / one drop policy?


S&R received approximately 150-200 packages per day, it would be impossible to deliver each package to the individual, and therefore only one stop per department is made.

  • Can I e-mail my package pickup to S&R?


NO – do not e-mail anyone on the staff for a package pickup.  E-mails may or may not be checked on a regular basis.  Please see the “outgoing packages” page for further assistance.

  • My package was ready, I called for a pickup, the office was open but my package was not picked up, why?


There are several reasons that the package may not have been picked up.  Including:  Was the package in the correct pickup spot?  Was the hazmat clause signed?  Are you sure you called for the pickup before 12:15?

Please call us back and request another pickup or bring the package to S&R before 3:00 in order to go out the same day.

  • What is the proper way to package something for shipment?

  • Does S&R have supplies?


S&R only has a few of the smaller envelopes and boxes available.  If you required anything larger than a “3-ring 2 inch binder” size, you will need to find the supplies elsewhere.  S&R does not have bubble-wrap, peanuts, newspapers etc for inside packaging.

  • I have a package that the vendor is going to pay the shipping cost, how does this work?


Please see “3rd Party Billing”

  • Is the RMA # the shipping #?


No – this is only a “return material authorization”.  You will have to pay for the package to be returned.

  • How do I keep track of my package once it leaves my department?


The best way to track a package is under “remarks” on the Shipping Request, ask that the tracking number be sent to e-mail address: ______.

  • I have several packages that are going to the same place; do I have to fill out a shipping request for each one?


No – however on the Shipping Request, make sure in the “remarks” to put how many boxes there are.  If the value of ALL the boxes are greater than $100.00 make sure to state what each box is worth.

  • I missed the deadline for calling in a pickup; can I still send the package out today?

Yes – you need to deliver the package to S&R before 3:00.  Late packages WILL NOT be processed.

  • Is my Shipping Request my shipping label?


No – the Shipping request is kept in S&R.  All the information from the Shipping Request is processed through a computer and a special label is printed that is affixed to the box.
