Congratulations on being accepted to the University of Wyoming! We can't wait for you to join the Poke family.

Being accepted is the first step in becoming a Cowboy or Cowgirl. We've put together this handy checklist to help you complete the enrollment process at the University of Wyoming.

Here are the 7 steps to getting enrolled at UW:

1. Create a WyoWeb account at: wyoweb.uwyo.edu

WyoWeb is your portal to everything you will need as a student at UW. It is where you will register for classes, obtain financial aid information and pay your bill, access classes that may be broadcast via WyoCast, find your transcripts, student health and residential life and dining information.

2. Confirm your enrollment uwyo.edu/confirmation

The University of Wyoming requires new, first-time students (freshmen and transfers) to confirm their intent to enroll and submit a $300 enrollment deposit.

  • Students admitted for the Summer or Fall term are required to confirm their enrollment/pay their deposit by May 1st or within 3 weeks of their admission to UW.

  • Students admitted for the Spring term are required to confirm their enrollment/pay their deposit by December 1st or within 3 weeks of their admission to UW.

  • Students who miss the applicable deadline and fail to complete enrollment confirmation, including the deposit, may lose scholarships, aid, course registration, academic advising and other UW opportunities.

3. Apply for housing here: uwyo.edu/housing

The Residence Halls offer a diverse and exciting experience you will appreciate for the rest of your life. Research conducted on a national level indicates that students who choose to live in the residence halls are more likely to stay in school and graduate and are generally more satisfied with their college experience.

First-year students are required to live in UW residence halls during their initial two semesters. Complete your housing contract through WyoWeb. Here you may choose a desired Freshman Interest Group (FIG), provide your preference for a specific building or floor, and be matched with a compatible roommate. The Housing Application is available starting late December-early January. For further information about housing, please contact Residence Life and Dining Services.

4. File your FAFSA at: fafsa.ed.gov

If you don’t fill out the FAFSA, you could be missing out on a lot of financial aid! There are many types of federally funded student aid available including work study programs, grants, federal student loans and other aid programs. Our Federal School Code is 003932.

FAFSA opens on October 1st and you are encouraged to submit it prior to January 1st (for fall semester) or November 1st (for spring semester) to be considered for need-based aid and many of Wyoming’s scholarship programs. Financial Aid packaging will not begin until mid-January and information will be placed onto your WyoWeb account and mailed home in late spring. Visit the Financial Aid office for more information or phone (307) 766-2116. Students are encouraged to apply for UW scholarships at uwyo.edu/scholarships. Deadlines and additional applications exist for many scholarship opportunities.

5. Register for orientation

Don't wait until Fall to come to campus! Register for Orientation and get familiar with campus before class starts.

6. Submit proof of your Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) vaccinations

All students must turn in their proof of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccinations prior to course registration. Please visit the Student Health Immunization page for instructions. You will not be able to register for semester classes if you have not met this requirement. For further information about the MMR vaccination requirement, please contact Student Health Service.

7. Check your UW email

Once you attend orientation and register for classes, your UW email will activate. Please check your WyoWeb account often to access your e-mail account. This e-mail address will have important updates, student event, deadlines, and financial aid information.
