If You Struggle with Technology, These Workshops Might Be for You

Makerspace director showing student something on the computer
IT keeps campus running not only through fixing technological problems, but by helping the UW community learn different computer programs through their online courses.

Ashamed about your subpar aptitude for technology? Don't be.

You're never going to go wrong with a good ole' pen and some paper, but there's no better time than the present to get out of your comfort zone. Technology seems to be weaving its way into everything these days--and often with great benefits. If you find yourself overwhelmed by all the digital tools demanding your use on the daily, it might be time to take a trip to the Information Technology Center on campus.

UWIT Training offers workshops to UW students and faculty on a wide range of topics. Best part? Most of them are completely free. Workshops are offered for all levels of technology use. IT offers self-paced courses and courses you have sign up for. Some topics they've covered include:

  • Using Zoom

  • OneDrive

  • Excel

  • Identifying and Avoiding Phishing

  • Office 365

Whether you're totally lost in the digital realm or just want to learn about a new tool, these workshops can get you where you want to be.
