Virtual Orientation

Welcome to the Cowboy Family!

We are excited for you to join us as a student at the University of Wyoming this fall. Virtual orientation will provide you information about the many programs and services offered at UW over the course of several weeks of the summer, as well as the opportunity to make connections with other incoming and current UW students.

We also encourage you to complete your WyoWeb checklist as soon as possible. Additionally, if you haven't had a chance to join ZeeMee, your new classmates are waiting for you! Download the ZeeMee app today.

Use the resources below to get started!

Step One: Register for Orientation icon

If you haven't already, you will need to register for virtual orientation through your WyoWeb account in order to be added to the queue for when advising appointment scheduling occurs throughout June and July.

Advising & Class Registration

UW requires all students to meet with their academic advisors before registering for courses for the upcoming semester. Your advisor will be in contact with you via email in June or July to set up an advising appointment for fall class registration so be sure to check your email (including spam folder) over the upcoming weeks!

Step 2: Get Access to WyoLearn icon

Virtual orientation will take place through our WyoLearn platform in a series of bi-weekly "modules" throughout the summer. Get started here and follow these steps AFTER you have registered for virtual orientation:

  • Click on Enroll
  • Include your full name and personal email address
  • Then click Enroll in Course
  • Follow the email verification process to complete your registration.

Please note: this is a different step than registration through WyoWeb which you must complete in order to be connected with your advisor.

Don't forget to complete the following in your WyoWeb Checklist:

It is important to complete your WyoWeb checklist so you are able to register for fall classes. Make sure you have the following completed before orientation for a smooth experience!

Submit your immunization records for verification

UW requires students to submit proof of two Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccinations through the student patient portal. This must be completed before you can register for classes.

To be in compliance with the MMR immunization requirement, the immunization record must show your name, date of birth, and be signed on or after the date of the second MMR immunization by your medical provider or a representative of a health care agency.  Your immunization hold is not cleared until you have a green checkmark on your WyoWeb checklist.  Please contact Student Health Service if you have any questions at (307) 766-2132 or

NOTE: If you have received a COVID-19 vaccination, we encourage you to upload your vaccination record in this same portal. This vaccine is not currently required for students.

Math Placement Exam

Most incoming students to the University of Wyoming are required to take the Math Placement Exam (MPE) prior to registering for a math course. It is recommended that you take this test at least 7 days prior to your advising session and any retakes at least 24 hours prior. (This allows time to prepare, participate in online tutoring, and retest if desired.)

Complete information about the Math Placement Exam, preparation materials and possible exceptions to the math placement testing policy can be found here.

The site also includes a link to the testing site, 'Get Started' button, and you may also follow the link from your WyoWeb checklist when you are ready to take the test.

The test is available online via your WyoWeb account and the cost is $15 plus tax for the ALEKS package and $10 for Honorlock Proctoring (per attempt). The fees can be paid via a credit/debit card just prior to taking the exam.
