History

Constructed in 1952, the building contains murals by well-known muralist Edward Grigware. The east portion of the building now houses the edUniversity Laboratory School for grades 1-8. Until the 1980s, a high school was also part of the system. Called “University Prep,” the school enjoyed numerous state championships in various sports as well as high achievements in academics. The lab school now is a local public school with a lottery attendance. University students are able to assist lab school teachers for hands on learning experiences.
