UW publication about conservation easement benefits available
Wyoming residents can learn more about federal and state legislation that makes conservation easements more attractive and the deductions associated with donated easements more available, especially for those engaged in active farming or ranching operations.
Conservation Easements: Wyoming Update, B-1177, from the William D. Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming, includes information about increased tax incentives for conservation easements donated to land trusts or other nonprofit conservation organizations and that meet the “conservation purposes” requirement for federal tax deduction.
The publication is available for download on the Web at http://ces.uwyo.edu/PUBS/B1177.pdf. Free hardcopies can be obtained by e-mailing the College of Agriculture’s Resource Center at bixbyd@uwyo.edu, calling the center at (307) 766-2115, or writing to the University of Wyoming, College of Agriculture, Department 3313, 1000 E. University Ave., Laramie, WY 82071.
