University of Wyoming Extension Technician Job Opportunity (Temporary) 

  • Location: Cheyenne, WY (remote work possible) 

  • Description: I am seeking to hire an undergraduate student for a temporary opportunity. This project is part of a collaborative effort to assess horn fly infestations on beef steers in partnership with the University of Wyoming and USDA. Students will assess digital images of cattle, both face and side profiles of the body, and count flies on animals. Data will be uploaded in an excel database. The work requires the ability to focus, finish tedious tasks, manage a portfolio of images, manage spreadsheets, and communicate with both UW and USDA researchers. The work can be completed remotely and a laptop computer can be provided if needed. Pay rate is $12 per hour.

2022 National Western Stock Show Internship Program 

  • Description: Are you interested in participating in one of the BEST internship experiences you can get? It’s all about meeting people in the industry and being involved at the National Western Stock Show! Biodiversity Research Supplements for students working on topics of relevance to Native Americans 

  • Description: The Biodiversity  Institute is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for UW students working on biodiversity topics of relevance to Wind River Indian Reservation communities. Funding is available to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Cheney First Abroad Planning Scholarship 

  • Description: This year, Education Abroad is excited to be offering the Cheney First Abroad Planning Scholarship for the second time. The First Abroad Planning Scholarship supports first-generation students in their efforts towards planning an education abroad experience. It is a one-time scholarship of up to $5000 used to fund participation in a UW-approved education abroad program. We will award between 7-10 students in the 2021-22 school year. These awards are considered planning scholarships and will be disbursed the semester before your study abroad.

UW Career Fairs 

  • Description: Graduating soon and ready to begin looking for a full-time job? Interested in finding an internship or summer job related to your major? Meet employers at the job fair (in-person) and learn about potential jobs and internships that they offer! 

  • September 28 - ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY JOB FAIR (targeted to students majoring in engineering, computer science, and tech fields) 

  • September 29 - BIG JOB FAIR (general job fair, open to all students from a variety of majors in Agriculture, Arts & Sciences, Environment/Natural Resources, Energy Resources, Business, and more) 

  • Both events, in-person, in the WYOMING UNION, YELLOWSTONE BALLROOM, 10am to 3pm each day 

  • October 7 – Virtual Job Fair (general job fair, open to all students) 

    • Held virtually through Handshake 2-5pm 

  • Be prepared: 

    • Bring plenty of resumes 

      • Make sure your resume is up to date and professional; contact ACES for assistance 

    • Dress professionally 

    • Research the attending organizations prior to the fair

Etiquette Dinner 

  • When: Wednesday, October 6th from 5:30-7:30pm 

  • Location: UW Conference Center-Hilton Garden Inn 

  • Description: Enjoy a 3-course dinner provided with instruction on cultural, networking, and dining etiquette. 

    • A $20.00 deposit is required to reserve your seat. This deposit will be returned to you after the conclusion of the dinner. You must show up on time, and remain for the entire duration of the dinner to receive the deposit back. If you cannot afford the deposit, please email to make arrangements to attend the dinner. 

    • Dress code is business casual to business professional - whatever you have that you consider nice clothing and would align with a potential profession you wish to enter.
