Shell Valley Consulting Rangeland Ecologist

Description: The successful candidate will have knowledge/experience conducting vegetation surveys of plants found in the intermountain west. Projects are frequently located in remote locations & require adequate back country skills & independent problem solving. Vegetation investigations include report writing/preparation, mapping and research. The candidate will be expected to travel up to 20 days per month during the field season. Projects employ various vegetation monitoring techniques including line-intercept, plot (Parker or Daubenmire), belt and cover type transects. Additional field responsibilities include assisting in water sampling, stream channel cross-section and stream profile surveys, wildlife monitoring and studies for endangered plant and animal species. Timber projects include timber pre-sale preparation. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new skills.
