  • Description: Academic & Student Programs is hiring an office associate/recruitment coordinator. This position would Coordinate college recruitment, commencement, and undergraduate teaching assistant and orientation activities. Facilitate and maintain the Academic and Student Programs office. This position also serves as the Ag Ambassador student organization advisor and provides support to the Associate Dean and faculty/staff and students.

College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Accounting/Finance Intern 

 

National Park Service Biological Science Technician (Plants) 

  • Description: Performs technician work that is supportive of professionals in resource management (i.e. Ecologists, Botanist, etc.). These positions are primarily concerned with carrying out field studies on plants and plant ecology, inventorying, monitoring, and mapping plant populations; performing invasive plant eradication or revegetation work; conducting grazing and monitoring studies; developing improved methods of controlling invasive plant species and plant diseases; performing nursery work, seed collection, and similar work usually concerned with higher plant life. May also perform some forestry work concerned with monitoring, rehabilitation, reforestation, propagation, and/or thinning; monitoring hazard tree and disease programs; and monitoring and/or controlling disease and insect infestations. Specific duties will vary by park location.

Wyoming DEQ Land Quality Division Temporary Summer Student Position  

  • Description: Adecco is recruiting for a temporary summer position available to a junior or senior student enrolled at the University of Wyoming (UW), in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources or similar natural resource program. The summer, temporary position will provide an opportunity for a student to work on real world projects in land management, work with professionals in their field of study, and apply knowledge they have gained within their first two to four years of university education. This position is linked to REWN 4800 for credit.

Udall Foundation Native American Congressional Internship 

  • Description: This ten-week summer internship in Washington, D.C., is for Native American and Alaska Native students who wish to learn more about the federal government and issues affecting Indian country. The internship is fully funded: the Udall Foundation provides round-trip airfare, housing, per diem for food and incidentals, and a stipend at the close of the program.

Cowboy Branded Meats Marketing Internship 

  • Times: Spring 2022, Summer 2022, Fall 2022 

  • Description: Cowboy Branded Meats internships are designed for University of Wyoming college students interested in pursuing a career in marketing and/or meat production. The purpose of the internship is to provide students the opportunity to market Cowboy Branded Meat products, enhance consumer relation skills, and understand production of meat products for a specialty niche markets. Duties of the successful candidate will be to interact with customers to fill retail orders, create promotional and marketing materials, create sales projections, monitor inventory, and further develop brand awareness.

  • Description: ServiTech is dedicated to providing interns with valuable experiences that will increase their practical agronomy knowledge.  Our intern positions allow for a wide diversification of geography and farming practices.  As a ServiTech Intern, you’ll be an integral part of the team, applying knowledge from the classroom setting in a real-life environment, tackling real challenges, interacting with clients, collaborating with, and supporting professional Agronomists while building your skillset for the future. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the General Application each year to qualify and be considered for a wide range of scholarship opportunities. Students who have been awarded a first-year or transfer scholarship commitment are required to complete the General Application each year to fulfill their respective commitment. 2022 International Livestock Congress (ILC) Student Fellowships Program 

  • Date March 2-3, 2022 

  • Description: In an on-going effort to enhance the educational experiences of college students and strengthen the leaders of tomorrow’s livestock and meat industry, the ISEF awards fellowships each year for the ILC to senior-level undergraduates and graduate students attending accredited colleges or universities.  Hosted in Houston, Texas, during the world-famous Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLS&R), the ILC is a unique global event that brings leaders from the livestock and meat industry together to discuss issues of international importance that affect the future of animal agriculture.  Scholastic achievement, leadership experiences, and a professional reference are all part of the qualifying requirements for this fellowship program.

Udall Undergraduate Scholarship 

  • Description: This scholarship (Up to $7000) is awarded to 50 undergraduate sophomores and juniors pursuing careers related to the Environment, Tribal Public Policy, or Native Health Care. Frasure-Kruzel-Drew Memorial Fellowship 

  • Description: The FKD Memorial Fellowship is a two year, full-time paid professional opportunity to work with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Political-Military Affair's Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PMWRA), helping to reduce the harmful effects of landmines, illicitly proliferated small arms and ammunition, and indiscriminately used conventional weapons of war. Upon completion, many fellows accept full-time positions at the Department of State.

University of Wyoming Alumni Association Gingerbread Decorating contest 

  • Description: Join in on the fun in celebrating the holiday season this year! Open to the UW campus community and alumni & friends. The gingerbread houses will be on display for viewing and voting Monday, December 6 to Friday, December 10 at noon. The Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. One vote per person per category. The winner from each category will receive a special engraved trophy.

UW Animal Science Judging Teams Holiday Meat Sale

  • Pick-up dates: November 18th, December 6th, December 9th  

  • Pick-up instructions: Pick-up will occur at the UW Meat Laboratory Sales Room from 5-7 PM. Park in the west end lot of the Animal Science/Molecular Biology Building and enter the west doors of the building. For the November 18th pick-up date, please place your order by Thursday, November 11th so that you can enjoy our delicious holiday items for Thanksgiving! The remaining pick-up dates will cut off one week prior to the scheduled pick-up.

FDSC 3063: Meat Processing 

  • Time and dates: Spring 2022 Mondays 9-9:50 (Lecture) & 11-1 (Lab) 

  • Description: Students will learn the science behind making jerky, sausage, ham, bacon and various other meat products by manufacturing them in lab. All products made be students will be tasted and evaluated too!

AGRI 4990-04 Topics: Ranch Management and Agricultural Leadership Seminar  

  • Time and Dates: Spring 2022 Thursdays 4:10-7pm (Will meet 5 times throughout semester)  

  • Course Description: This course addresses contemporary issues facing ranchers addressing livestock management and markets, water, rangeland management, public/private land issues and emerging technologies in the agricultural sector. Students will have opportunity to network with industry experts to learn about leadership qualities. Sessions will be held around the state and will be available through Zoom.
