ASUW Financial Wellness Month

Cowboy Joe Handler 

  • Description: We are looking for two new handlers who want to be a part of this long time University of Wyoming tradition! As a Cowboy Joe Handler, you represent the University of Wyoming at athletic events, major Wyoming shows such as Cheyenne Frontier Days and Wyoming State Fair, and other notable university activities such as Homecoming and Family Weekend. In addition to interacting with the public, handlers are responsible for escorting Joe to these events, training, and grooming Cowboy Joe.

Centennial Valley Association Field Technician & Field Coordinator 

  • Description for Field Coordinator: We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to join our Team as the Field Coordinator. This position will lead the CVA’s Invasive Species Management, Water and Drought Awareness, and Outreach/Education programs. The Field Coordinator will be responsible for growing and coordinating these field-based programs! 

  • Description for Field Technician: CVA and The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Montana are seeking one dedicated individual to join our Team as a Field Technician for the field season. This will be a seasonal, joint position between both the CVA and TNC. The Field Technician will be responsible for participating in and supporting various field and preserve projects!

USFS Rangeland Management Specialist Positions

USDA-APHIS – Plant Protection Quarantine (PPQ) Survey Scout 

  • Description: USDA- Animal Health Inspection Service (APHIS) – Plant Protection Quarantine (PPQ) is recruiting for summer positions. Applicants must be 18 years of age prior to reporting to work and we have had great luck with college students.  We are looking for driven, hard-working individuals preferably with an interest/background in Agriculture, entomology, biology, animal science, plant pathology or other biological sciences. The interests are not as important as the driven, hard-working qualities. The duties of this job are mostly conducting agricultural pest insect trapping and survey activities which include grasshoppers and Mormon crickets and exotic/invasive forest pests as well as some biological control activities on certain rangeland weeds. This is a great job opportunity for individuals going to college and wanting to gain some field experience. And the pay is competitive.

307 Meat Company Production Team 

  • Description: 307 Meat Company is Wyoming's newest and most modern USDA inspected meat processing plant. 307 Meat Company is dedicated to sustainable local food production specializing in assisting direct to consumer meat companies. We are seeking self-motivated individuals to join our production team. The successful candidate must work effectively in a team environment and cover other team member’s responsibilities while they are absent or working on another project. This individual will need to be able to repeatedly lift and move items weighing up to 40lbs. This person will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing our production rooms. Standard hours of work are from 4:30pm to approximately 9:30pm. Position starts at $13.50 per hour, with wage increases dependent on employment time and work performance.

GrowingG Internship Program 

  • Description: The GrowinG Internship Program is now accepting applications for 2022. This program is part of a broader project offering education and practical experience to beginning farmers and ranchers across Wyoming. Goals of the internship program are to provide hands-on internships at working farms and ranches to Wyoming’s beginning farmers and ranchers each year in cooperation with state producer organizations and educational institutions. Applications to become involved are now being accepted from potential interns and site hosts.

Kansas State University Department of Communication & Ag Education Producer/Director 

  • Description:We are looking for a highly motivated communication specialist to produce a daily agricultural media program featuring the research-based information generated by K-State Research and Extension programs, agents and specialists. As producer/director you will: 

    • Host the long-running Agriculture Today radio broadcast/podcast. 

    • Communicate the impact of Extension programs and research on behalf of the agriculture industry in Kansas and surrounding states. 

    • Create digital audio content for the K-State Radio Network and collaborate to promote communication support for KSRE and the College of Agriculture.

  • Description: WyoScholarships is the UW scholarship system. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the General Application each year to qualify and be considered for a wide range of scholarship opportunities. Students who have been awarded a first-year or transfer scholarship commitment are required to complete the General Application each year to fulfill their respective commitment. In addition be sure to complete the conditional application for College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to be consider for our Brand of Excellence Awards.

  • Description: The Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium sponsors education and research programs in the state of Wyoming in support of NASA missions, serving as a link between citizens of the state and NASA programs. It is one of 52 consortia representing each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Our programs include research fellowships and internships for students at the University of Wyoming and Wyoming community colleges, scholarship programs for community college students in STEM majors, grants for college and university faculty, and educational resources and programs for Wyoming K-12 students and teachers.
