-1978 (Fall), Thesis substitute: Spent a semester in England comparing a fourteenth-century K.U. manuscript to other Medieval illuminated manuscripts at the rare book and manuscript libraries of the Bodleian (Oxford), the British Museum (London), Christ's College (Cambridge), Corpus                             Christi College (Oxford), Salisbury Cathedral, and the University of Cambridge

-1976 (Spring), Studied Italian for a semester at the Dante Institute, Rome, Italy
