Megan and Cody teach community members about fat, sugar and healthy habits at the Fall-Into-Good Health Fair in October!
Is your schedule simply too busy for a long-term volunteer commitment, but you are still interested in making a difference in your community? Short-term volunteer projects provide an opportunity for you to participate one time! In the past CHAP members have volunteered for the Wyoming Department of Health's Oral Section screening at the local Headstart, the Albany County Flu Clinic, the Fall-into-Good-Health Fair and more! So if you've got commitment issues (winkwink), please sign-up for one of the following short-term projects.
CHAP is looking for a few more creative souls to help install a small mural project at the Spring Wind Assisted Living facility, in effort to create ambiance and stimulate the minds of those suffering from dementia and alzheimer's. Contact Meghan at mbrown55@uwyo.edu with questions/interest.
This year, the AmeriCorps programs within Greater Wyoming Big Brothers Big Sisters and the UW SLCE office (Service, Leadership, & Civic Engagement) are teaming up to plan a Martin Luther King Day of Service, to be held on Monday, January 21, 2013, 1:00 – 3:30pm, on the lower level of the UW Student Union.
They are currently looking for community groups who may want to host a booth to work on a service project or pertinent activity for attendees. There will be around 30 different local organizations/clubs represented and it should be a great day! CHAP will be hosting a booth and needs your help. Contact Meghan for more information at mbrown55@uwyo.edu or 766.2498
