Why host a Healthcare Career Fair for High School Students?
Demand for healthcare workers is on the rise. New healthcare regulations will extend benefits to a greater percentage of the population leading to an increase demand for services. In addition, the U.S. population is getting older and living longer - and older people require more healthcare services.
Experts estimate that by 2030, one - fourth of the U.S. population will be over 65. In Wyoming, the 65+ population is expected to increase by 91% from 2010 - 2030.
Wyoming AHEC works to provide pipeline programs for students in an effort to 'grow our own' future healthcare workforce.
