Vice President, Young Alumni, Term 2012 - 2016
Matt graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2008 with a BS in Political Science along with a background in Geology. He started his career in Washington D.C. working for Vice President Dick Cheney and Senators Craig Thomas and John Barrasso during the summer of 2006 and 2007. Upon graduation, Matt continued in the political realm as Campaign Manager to the Cynthia Lummis for Congress campaign, where he was integrally involved in their November 2008 win. Following his work in politics, Matt transitioned to the oil and gas industry. He began by completing environmental reclamation and land work in a Northern Colorado oil field before joining Transcontinent Oil Company (TCO) as a landman in early 2010. Matt then transitioned to a landman position at the Bill Barrett Corporation in Denver. He oversaw prospect development and leasing efforts in the Uinta Basin in the State of Utah. In May 2013, Matt accepted a position with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and is currently working in the Policy Affairs group.
Matt lives in central Denver and married Texas native Katie MacIntyre. The two are enjoying being parents of two daughters, Ellie and Annie. His recreational passions include astronomy, traveling, fly fishing, archery hunting, and attempting to hit the reclusive hole-in-one, and all things Wyoming.
