University of Wyoming Alumni Association|Programs & Services

Programs & Services

We strive to aid current students with scholarships, former students with career networking, and all alumni an opportunity to connect with their alma mater.

The University of Wyoming Alumni Association sponsors a variety of programs and services for alumni and friends of the university.   Membership dues and donations fund a large portion of our programming costs.  Your support directly funds activities and services that benefit you.

Alumni Reunions & Functions

In the past decade, UWAA has reached over 50,000 alumni nationwide through reunions and various functions.  Currently, the association sponsors approximately 50 events each year.  And there’s more – through exploring partnerships with other UW departments, we expect additional functions in the future.  We know alumni like to connect with each other in person, and we sponsor events to facilitate these connections.  If you’re interested in having an event in your area or for your special interest group, please contact us at to discuss possibilities.

UWYO Magazine

The UWYO Magazine is UW’s quarterly publication.  It features articles that highlight current UW news, faculty developments, notable alumni, and alumni association activities.  The Wyograms section announces important events in the lives of fellow alums.  To learn more about membership benefits, click here.

Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming weekend is a time for alumni to reacquaint with their alma mater – to relive the experiences that defined their college years and to experience the ways in which UW has changed and remained the same.  The Alumni Association coordinates alumni activities during homecoming weekend, including the 50 year class reunion, and the homecoming parade.

Social Networking

In November 2008, UWAA launched its FaceBook page in order to communicate better with alumni.  We have over 3,500 fans at present and our base grows every day.  We’re also on LinkedIn with 3,600 connections and have over 400 followers on Twitter. Please click any of the links on the left to be taken to our social media pages.

Distinguished Alumni & Medallion Service Awards

Each Homecoming, UWAA recognizes Distinguished Alumni and Medallion Service Award honorees.  These awards are meaningful ways to acknowledge UW’s truly outstanding alumni – both in terms of career accomplishments and service.  Click here to learn more about the awards and the nominating process.

UWAA Scholarship Program

UWAA’s scholarship program is funded by our generous Scholarship Club members, who recognize the potential in bright students and want to foster that potential.  Over $100,000 each year is awarded to deserving UW students.  Available scholarships range from one year to four year awards in various categories.  Click here to learn more about supporting the program or scholarships available.

UW License Plates

In November 2007, UWAA began accepting applications for the University of Wyoming License Plate.  For a one-time fee of $130, Wyoming residents can obtain a UW plate.  By Wyoming Statute, $100 from each plate sale is deposited into an account for student scholarship and programming.  Five years later, over $520,000 has been generated to support UW students.  Click here to learn more about the UW license plate.
