Meat Judging Team Wraps Up Season
The 2012 University of Wyoming Meat Judging Team has wrapped
up their season. Team members included Jennifer Anders (Senior in Meat Science
and Food Technology), Emily De Wett (Sophomore in Animal Science), Kayla Foster
(Senior in Meat Science and Food Technology), Nick Consulo (Senior in Ag
Business), and Morgan Hanson (Junior in Accounting). The team was coached by
Zeb Gray. The team competed in 7 national contests against 16 other land grant
universities.
The season was a great success, both in terms of competition and learning. There were numerous team awards as well as individual awards that they secured throughout the year. The team continually improved in their judging abilities throughout the year and in their knowledge of the meat industry. The team made numerous industry contacts and represented the University of Wyoming with exemplary conduct.
“This team worked extremely hard and responded well to the rigorous demands of being on judging team while still maintaining good academic standing,” said Zeb Gray, judging team coach. “They represented the department in a competitive manner while exhibiting first class behavior.”
The 2012 Meat Judging Team wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Department of Animal Science for all of the support.
