2015 Cowboy Youth Classic

The 2015 Cowboy Youth Classic featuring beef, goat, hog and lamb fitting and showing clinics will be held June 19th and 20th at the Albany County Fairgrounds.

Registration for the 2015 Cowboy Youth Classic is now open.  Click here to register.  All registration will be online this year. We will not be accepting early payments, all payment is expected the at check-in (June 20th). If you need assistance with registration please contact Mary Louise Wood at (307) 721-2571 or

Registrations are due by June 13, 2015. 

Registration fees are:
       $20/head for steer and heifer projects
       $10/head for sheep/swine/goats
       $5/species for showmanship
       $10 per animal late fee for anything registered after June13, 2015.

CYC t-shirts are only guaranteed for registrations received by noon on June 13th. 

Guidelines for Cowboy Youth Classic swine exhibitors:

  • Out-of-state exhibitors may not show out-of-state swine due to the PEDv outbreak. 
  • CYC will follow guidelines provided by the Wyoming Livestock Board.
  • All swine exhibitors must provide a signed affidavit to exhibit, as well as an import CVI (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) for swine born outside of Wyoming. 
  • Swine must be individually identified, and exhibitor must provide documentation that the animal has resided in Wyoming for at least 30 days prior to the Cowboy Youth Classic (since May 21, 2014) with no signs of PEDv evident for the same time period. 
  • A Swine Exhibition Affidavit will be required for all swine.

  • 8:00 AM Barn Opens
  • 9:30 AM Beef Weigh & Check In
  • 9:30 AM Lamb/Goat Weigh & Check In; followed by Swine Weigh & Check In
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Fitting and Showing Workshops at the Fairgrounds (Mandatory)
  • 3:00 - 5:00 PM Workshops  (Mandatory)
    • Quality Assurance
    • First Aid Kit
    • Nutrtition/Cannulated Cow
    • Bio-security
  • 5:30 PM Evening Meal in the Department of Animal Science Foyer
  • 6:30 PM Evening Activity -Quiz Bowl! (Follows Evening Meal)

SATURDAY, June 20th @ 9 AM  (Shows immediately follow the previous show)

  • Market Swine Show
  • Market Sheep Show
  • Market Goat Show
  • Beef Show

PEDv Information:


  • The annual show/clinic will be held at the Albany County Fairgrounds.  The fairgrounds are located at 3520 U.S. 287, Laramie, WY.
  • The mandatory workshops and Friday evening meal will be held at the Animal Science Building on the UW Campus.
  • There will be a $5.00/pp charge for the Friday evening meal.
  • There will be a $5.00 refundable pen charge.  Money will be refunded after your pen has been cleaned out and checked by CYC staff.

Directions to the Animal Science Building from the Fair Grounds:

  • Make a Left out of the Fairgrounds (South on US 287)
  • Turn Right onto E Grand Avenue
  • Turn Left onto 22nd St
  • At the four way stop –Turn Left onto Willet Dr
  • Turn Right onto 19th St
  • Animal Science Building will the 1st building on the Right
