UW Pride is demonstrated every day

Wearing brown and gold is a visible way to show UW Pride. UW Pride is more than colorful clothing. It’s a bold attitude that acknowledges the significance of Wyoming’s most important resource, its people.

UW Pride represents world-renowned UW faculty members who inspire students to succeed in the classroom and lead advances in research; skillful staff members who support students in the everyday challenges of higher education; and aspiring students who are changing the world today and tomorrow.

UW Pride is UW’s commitment to excellence in facilities and programs supported by public and private contributions, ranging from the College of Engineering and Applied Science Tier 1 Initiative to the new Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts.

UW Pride connects alumni and friends who are making a difference around the globe.

Show your pride – Go For Gold

The University of Wyoming draws on a rich heritage of education, exploration and enterprise that embodies the spirit of the people of Wyoming. UW Pride celebrates the achievements of the individuals representing the institution including students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors, as well as its unique bond with the people of Wyoming.

Everyone is invited to join in the University of Wyoming tradition celebrating every Friday throughout the year as UW Pride Friday. All are encouraged to wear their brown and gold UW gear to promote pride in the university and celebrate our collective achievements.

Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics graduate Perry Baptista says attending UW was one of the best decisions she ever made.

UW Pride is reflected in Cowboy Ethics

In March 2010, Wyoming became the first state to adopt an official state code of ethics. The symbolic measure spells out 10 ethics derived from the “Code of the West” outlined in a book by author and retired Wall Street investor James Owen.
